Meet Your Instructor:
Professional Sculptor Vicky Oldham

I’m Vicky Oldham, a career artist and sculptor, and I’d like to help you discover the art of clay sculpture. To me, there is no greater reward than seeing something evolve out of nothing—and realizing that it was you who made it happen.

A Lifetime of Sculpture Mastery

My journey began with formal training at the Tyler School of Art (Temple University) in the 1970s. After college, I transitioned into the world of professional sculpture, where I spent years assisting in the creation of fine porcelain pieces.

As a freelance artist, I had the privilege of creating original sculpture designs for some of the most recognized names in the industry:

  • Franklin Mint

  • Cybis (assisting Chuck Oldham)

  • Lenox Collections

  • Danbury Mint

  • Bradford Exchange

  • United Design

The Shift to Teaching

While I spent decades creating designs for major collections, I’ve found that the most rewarding part of my career is happening right now: teaching. In 2025, I earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Northern Arizona University to further my commitment to education.

I believe that sculpture is more than just a hobby; it is a powerful way to quiet the noise of daily life and reconnect with your hands. I’ve seen firsthand how the tactile process of shaping clay builds a unique kind of confidence and resilience. It is a creative process that requires physical attention, and that focus has a way of changing how you see your own potential.

Realize Your Creative Potential

Today, my focus is on teaching the fundamentals of sculpture to people of all ages—from kids to adults. My goal is to take the "mystery" out of mastery. By sharing the technical secrets and professional techniques I’ve learned over a lifetime, I hope to help you realize your own creative potential.

Clay sculpture is not just fun; it can grow into a lifelong passion. I look forward to helping you start your journey and seeing you finish your first piece—astonished at what you were able to create.
